Flame-Kissed Flavor

Grilled Chicken with Lemon & Oregano

1 of 30

Marinated, rubbed, glazed, and dipped: Chicken on the grill will never be the same again. Bringing together flavors from around the world, like Jamaican jerk seasoning, tahini sauce, hoisin glaze, and chimichurri dipping sauce, these chicken recipes will keep grilling interesting all season long.

Favorite Food Gawker Find...

As much as I love a whole roast chicken any time of the year, grilled chicken is a must in the summer. Many recipes direct you to grill chicken pieces separately, but by taking a few extra steps, this whole chicken method will ensure that the entire chicken is moist and juicy. There will not be any dried-out chicken breasts or underdone chicken legs and thighs to pop your grilled chicken yummy balloon....

Tip 5: Start from scratch

"When adding accessories to a room, begin with a blank slate.I often clear off the surfaces -- bookshelves, coffee tables, countertops -- and start fresh. First assess the architecture without visual clutter,
then inject some colour and personality one piece at a time."  - Tamara Robbins Griffith

Eating in a bikini doesn't have to give you nightmares any more.
Here, summer snacks that will leave you satisfied without packing on pounds.

Before I left for Colorado, I had a grand plan of making up a whole bunch of salads and snacks for the road because when I travel, I love to eat. So, instead of sharing recipes, I thought it would be nice to share some quick and easy ideas that you can pick up at the grocery store for your cooler to save both time and labor.

Naming the World One Baby At A Time

Doting father David Beckham looks like the proudest father as he tenderly cradles new daughter Harper Seven. The first photo was posted by his wife Victoria Beckham on Twitter, with the caption “Daddy’s little girl!”.   Aww! How cute is she?!  The couple welcomed the littlest Becks on July 10. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz. So, how did they decide on her name.....?

Personal Comment

Congratulations to the Beckham Family!   I don't know about you but I really do love the name Harper.   But this middle name reminded of the Seinfield television show when George Costanza told his girlfriend that he thought the name "seven" was a great name for either a boy or a girl:  "Seinfield: Seven as a Baby Name "   So what are you thoughts about baby names and how important is it to come up with wonderful baby name that fits your child when you are not a celebrity?

The Casey Anthony trial and the terrible story of the death...
The reality is that 150 children, most under the age of four, die every month from abuse or neglect. While high profile cases do bring awareness, they take our focus off the real issue of suffering children and instead keep us embroiled in speculation and legalities...

Blogland Culinary Field Trip

Doesn't this dish look good?

Evan writes...

For a food blogger, I’m not a very adventurous eater. I eat a lot of the same things over and over again. I eat a lot of omelets. I love making raw noodles in peanut sauce. And, when in doubt, I always go back to greens and beans....

This is one of my favorite summertime soups~

Kelsey writes:

When I was at BlogHer Food in Atlanta in May I had the great fortune of sipping the most delicious lemonade I’d ever, ever tasted. It was sold at a tiny cafe at the Auburn Street Market and I am fairly sure every single one of us on the field trip purchased a large serving. What made it so unique was that it was made with roasted Georgia peaches. You could actually taste little bits of peach in every slurp....

The Heart of AMERICA

Freedom is not the right to do as you please;
it is the liberty to do as you ought.
Anon.

Those who deny freedom to others
deserve it not for themselves.
Abraham Lincoln

If the freedom of speech is taken away
then dumb and silent we may be led,
like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington

Money won't create success,
the freedom to make it will.
Nelson Mandela

The Spirit of God first imparts love,
he next inspires hope,
and then gives liberty;
and that is about the last thing
we have in many of our churches.
Dwight Lyman (D.L.) Moody

Christianity promises to make men free,
it does not promise to make them independent.
William Ralph Inge

He is only advancing in life,
whose heart is getting softer,
his blood warmer,
his brain quicker,
and his spirit entering into living peace.
John Ruskin

Harbours open there doors to the young searching foreigner

Come to live in the light of the big L of liberty

Plains and open skies bill boards would advertise

Was it anything like that when you arrived

Dream boats carried the future to the heart of America

People were waiting in line for a place by the river

It was time when strangers were welcome here

Music would play they tell me the days were sweet and clear

It was a sweeter tune and there was so much room

That people could come from everywhere

Now he arrvies with hopes and his heart set on miracles

Come to marry his fortune with a hand full of promises

To find they've closed the door they don't want him anymore

There isn't anymore to go around

Turning away he remembers he once heard a legend

That spoke of a mystical magical land called America

It was time when strangers were welcome here

Music would play they tell me the days were sweet and clear

It was a sweeter tune and there was so much room

That people could come from everywhere

It was time when strangers were welcome here

Music would play they tell me the days were sweet and clear

It was a sweeter tune and there was so much room

That people could come from everywhere
