This is an oil on canvas, in and of itself the surface is different for me because there is a texture that masonite doesn't have. Usually I'm distrustful of people whose adjectives tend toward the extreme, i.e., ... biggest, wildest, hardest, fastest, the most this or most that, but I have to say this painting was at least in it's execution one of the most difficult in recent memory. But now the composition is simple, if not even static. I'm just saying that my experience in painting a portrait of Jesus without a model wasn't easy. If you think I was successful then to God be the glory cause I tried to mess it up. In the end I am happy with it and want to do more like it, Lord help me.

Tide QB McCarron Has A Heckuva Tattoo On His Back

Will AJ McCarron be the star quarterback that Alabama fans hope? For that answer we’ll have to wait til Fall… to see if he even beats out Phillip Sims.

A better question — that everyone can answer for themselves now — is whether or not he’s got the slickest back tattoo among SEC signal-callers.

McCarron’s tattoo (at left) features an image of Jesus, the words “Ma” and “Pops,” what appears to be an image of a dove of peace, and the words “Bama Boy.” Among other things.

Impressive.

Ah, but last November we showed you a photo of the tattoo Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray sports on his back. As we now know, the photo is legit and the tattoo features the letters: B-R-A-Y over four big stars.

So who’s got the best tat? That probably depends on whether or not you wear crimson or orange.

(Sidenote — In light of the recent Ohio State scandal, whenever we see an athlete with a big, flashy tattoo we immediately wonder: How’d he pay for that?)

Going in to 2011, Alabama will probably be ranked either no.1 or no.2 in the country. This despite having someone other than Greg McElroy as starting quarterback. Instead, Philip Sims and A.J. McCarron will be battling it out to see who gets the nod.

This, however, may have Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban a little concerned about McCarron's judgement abilities, which are essential for a modern-day QB - McCarron's alleged back tattoo.

Now, there's nothing wrong with getting a tattoo of Jesus (although some backwoods Southern Baptists might disagree with me on that one). But honestly, there's way too much stuff going on with this tramp stamp. Mentions of 'Bama and family are all crowded into one image, which kind of makes it a mess. Also, it just about does the impossible by making Tennessee star QB Tyler Bray's back tat look respectable.

Mind you, even with the star-spangled trapezoids, Bray managed to become one of the breakout QB's in the SEC last year. So who knows whether or not lightning will strike twice when it comes to McCarron. On the other hand, 'Bama fans may want to hope that Sims comes on top of the QB battle for now.

Oh wait, didn't a Simms start out as starting QB last year at Tennessee, only to lose the job to Bray? Lightning may indeed strike twice.

Brad Marchand confirms his Stanley Cup tattoo wasn’t spell-checked

When the Boston Bruins celebrated their 2011 Stanley Cup championship with a $156,000 bar tab and half-naked dancing at a Foxwoods casino club, it was our first glimpse at the fresh ink commemorating the Cup on players like rookie Brad Marchand(notes):

However, there was always something curious about Marchand's tattoo. Like the way "Stanley" nearly looked like "Starley"; and the way "champions" sure did resemble "champians."

Brad Marchand got a new tattoo. Im going to guess that Marchand was a little drunk when he got this...and the dude who did it may have been drunk too.

Its supposed to say “Stanley Cup Champions Boston Bruins” but it looks more like “Starley Cup Champians.” On a side not, who the frig gets a tattoo on the side of their belly?

BOSTON (CBS) – If you haven’t heard this yet, it’s great. When the Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years, a few of the players decided to get tattoos commemorating the event.
Of course, one of the players was Brad Marchand.
So the team wins, Brad heads to the locker room, meets the artist, gets the ink and continues to celebrate. Everything seemed fine and dandy…that is until somebody pointed out the misspelling of the word Champions.

Poor life choices. We’ve all made them but hopefully they aren’t inked onto your body as a permanent reminder that 1. you can’t spell (especially not when you’re wasted) and 2. the tattoo artist that inked you is too lazy to use spell-check or just has really bad and inconsistent cursive writing.

This is a picture of Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand’s new tattoo. Throw out everything you know about cursive writing and pretend that the “n”s and the “m” in these words are represented accurately-please notice how the tattoo is still spelled incorrectly.

Even funnier is that Marchand’s teammate Tyler Seguin appears to have gotten a matching tattoo. One can only hope, for hilarity’s sake, that it is exactly the same.
